THEY CAN BREW IT!

The 3rd Annual WOMEN IN BREWING event is coming up!

Each year, the Rubicon Brewing Company honors women in the brewing industry by inviting women and the beer they brew to Sacramento for a showcase day! That day is coming up in about two months, and we are already getting excited….

So, here’s the plan:

First… On April 11th, a Second Saturday, the Rubicon will be at Old Soul Bakery starting at 6:30pm, promoting awareness and involvement in the Women in Brewing appreciation day. You will be able to learn all about the mission of the event whilst drinking your favorite Rubicon beer, viewing some incredible art, and listening to great music. (Old Soul Bakery is located at 1716 L St. in the rear alley).

Then… On the day of the main event, which takes place on Saturday, April 25th you can stop into the Rubicon for lunch or dinner and taste all of the special “brewed by women” beers which will be tapped right along side the regular Rubicon brews that you know and love. On that same day, there will be a silent auction featuring prizes donated by local businesses and supporting breweries.

The event and silent auction benefit W.E.A.V.E (Women Escaping A Violent Environment). A W.E.A.V.E. representative will be present at both events to take donations for their Safe House and answer questions about their organization.

If you have any questions at all, please contact us!

Hi Everyone
Well it’s spring….or at least it seems like spring. So that means it’s time for a Beer Dinner.
This Friday 13 of February we are going to host a beer and appetizer dinner with The Rubicon Brewing Company.
The cost is an easy to the wallet $30 and the fun will begin at 6:30. The Rubicon is the oldest operating brewery
in Sacramento and produces some of the most exciting beers in the region. We hope you can make it out for this pre Valentines Day
extravaganza. We will be pairing 7 beers with specially created appetizers. Reservations are required as we have limited seating.

This year The Shack is going full steam ahead, with your support of course. We are developing a website so you don’t have to rely
on my random e-mails for information ( eastsacshack.com <http://eastsacshack.com> ).  But let me tell you that beginning Monday Feb. 16 we will be serving
seasonal small plate dinners. We will still have some of your favorites on the menu, but it is going to be a lot more fun to come
out to The Shack on the weeknights. I will be working on regular wine and beer tastings which you can find out about on the website.

Ok…..you asked for it……a civilized brunch on the weekends. The Shack hears and obeys! Beginning in March, exact date to be determined,
we will bring back Saturday and Sunday Brunch. Look for details on this soon.

Thanks for all of your support. we couldn’t and wouldn’t do it without you!!!
