Rubi-News & Brews for September 2008

For the third consecutive year, the Rubicon Brewing Company, working with the Northern California Brewers Guild and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento, has put together a wonderful community-oriented event for Midtown Sacramento. The 3RD ANNUAL MIDTOWN COMMUNITY FESTIVAL takes place on Saturday, September 13th from 1 to 6pm , and is held on Capitol Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets (right in front of the Rubicon). It is a day not to miss! The day starts with a kids Walk-a-Thon and is followed by live music and entertainment, a Beer Garden, BBQ, raffle, local vendor's booths, and fun activities for the kids. And to finish it off right... this year the festival lands on the SECOND SATURDAY of the month... which means that not only can you enjoy the afternoon with us to benefit a great cause, but you can spend the evening supporting local up-and-coming artists in your favorite midtown galleries.

Festival entrance is free to all, and tickets for the Beer Garden are available in advance at the Rubicon for $20. They will be available on the day of the festival for $25. And as always, All proceeds of this event will benefit the BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF GREATER SACRAMENTO.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento has helped thousands of children in our community for over 10 years. Their mission is very important and they depend on the support of their community to implement their Youth Development Strategy, which is to create “club programs and services [that] promote and enhance the development of our members by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and a power of influence.”

If you are interested in booth space, making a monetary donation or sponsoring a child for the Walk-A-Thon please email us or stop in for a pint and ask your beertender or server for more information.

“Ordering a second pint is the best
way to compliment a brewer.”
